Bhagavadgita 18.22 & 18.23

यत्तु कृत्स्नवदेकस्मिन्कार्ये सक्तमहैतुकम्।

अतत्त्वार्थवदल्पं च तत्तामसमुदाहृतम्।।18.22।।

18.22 And that knowledge by which one is attached to one kind of work as the all in all, without knowledge of the truth, and which is very meager, is said to be in the mode of darkness.

18.22 ಯಾವ ಜ್ಞಾನವು 'ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಇದೆ' ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು, ಕರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಿರುವುದೋ, ತತ್ವಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದ ಅಲ್ಪವಾದ ಈ ತಿಳಿವನ್ನು ತಾಮಸವೆನ್ನುವರು.

नियतं सङ्गरहितमरागद्वेषतः कृतम्।

अफलप्रेप्सुना कर्म यत्तत्सात्त्विकमुच्यते।।18.23।।

18.23 As for actions, that action in accordance with duty, which is performed without attachment, without love or hate, by one who has renounced fruitive results, is called action in the mode of goodness.

18.23 ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಂಗವಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ರಾಗದ್ವೇಷಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ಫಲದಾಶೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕರ್ಮವು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕವೆನಿಸುವುದು.
