अर्जुन उवाच
किं तद्ब्रह्म किमध्यात्मं किं कर्म पुरुषोत्तम।
अधिभूतं च किं प्रोक्तमधिदैवं किमुच्यते।।8.1।।

8.1 Arjuna inquired: O my Lord, O Supreme Person, what is Brahman? What is the self? What are fruitive activities? What is this material manifestation? And what are the demigods? Please explain this to me.

8.1 ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ-

ಹೇ ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವೆಂದರೇನು? ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮವೆಂದರೇನು? ಕರ್ಮವೆಂದರೇನು? ಅಧಿಭೂತವೆಂದರೆ ಯಾವುದು? ಅಧಿಧೈವ ಎಂಬುದು ಯಾವುದು?

अधियज्ञः कथं कोऽत्र देहेऽस्मिन्मधुसूदन।
प्रयाणकाले च कथं ज्ञेयोऽसि नियतात्मभिः।।8.2।।

8.2 How does this Lord of sacrifice live in the body, and in which part does He live, O Madhusudana? And how can those engaged in devotional service know You at the time of death?

8.2 ಹೇ ಮಧುಸೂದನ, ಈ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಯಜ್ಞನು ಯಾರು? ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಾತ್ಮರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಕೊನೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೀಯೆ?
