Bhagavadgita 2.60 & 2.61

यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्िचतः।

इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मनः।।2.60।।

2.60 For, O son of Kunti, the turbulent senses violently snatch away the mind of an intelligent person, even while he is striving diligently.

2.60 ಕೌಂತೇಯನೇ, ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಪುರುಷನು ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದರೂ, ದುರ್ದಮ್ಯ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳು ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.

तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः।

वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता।।2.61।।

2.61 Controlling all of them, one should remain concentrated on Me as the supreme. For, the wisdom of one whose senses are under control becomes steadfast.

2.61 ಅವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಿಡಿತದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಯೋಗಬಲದಿಂದ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನಿಡಬೇಕು. ಯಾರ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳು ಹತೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆಯೋ ಅಂತಹವನ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯೂ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
