Bhagavadgita 2.58 & 2.59

यदा संहरते चायं कूर्मोऽङ्गानीव सर्वशः।

इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस्तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता।।2.58।।

2.58 And when this one fully withdraws the senses from the objects of the senses, as a tortoise wholly (withdraws) the limbs, then his wisdom remains established.

2.58 ಹೇಗೆ ಆಮೆಯು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಅವಯವಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬದುಕುತ್ತದೆಯೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾರು ಇಂದ್ರಿಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಹಿಂತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅಂತಹವನು ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುವುದು.

विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः।

रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते।।2.59।।

2.59 The objects of the senses turn away from the abstinent man leaving the longing (behind); but his longing also turns away on seeing the Supreme.

2.59 ವಿಷಯಾಸಕ್ತವಲ್ಲದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳು ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಮ್ಮುಖವಾಗಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ (ಬಯಕೆ) ವಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಪರಮಾತ್ಮದರ್ಶನವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಸವು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
