Bhagavadgita 17.10 & 17.11

यातयामं गतरसं पूति पर्युषितं च यत्।

उच्छिष्टमपि चामेध्यं भोजनं तामसप्रियम्।।17.10।।

17.10 Food cooked more than three hours before being eaten, which is tasteless, stale, putrid, decomposed and unclean, is food liked by people in the mode of ignorance.

17.10 ಅರ್ಧ ಬೆಂದಿರುವ, ಸವಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ, ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ, ತಂಗಳಾದ, ಉಂಡುಮಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕದ್ದಲ್ಲದ ಭೋಜನವು ಯಾವುದೋ ಅದು ತಾಮಸರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದುದು.

अफलाकाङ्क्षिभिर्यज्ञो विधिदृष्टो य इज्यते।

यष्टव्यमेवेति मनः समाधाय स सात्त्विकः।।17.11।।

17.11 Of sacrifices, that sacrifice performed according to duty and to scriptural rules, and with no expectation of reward, is of the nature of goodness.

17.11 ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೋರದೇ, ವಿದ್ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಎಂದು, ಮನಸ್ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಯಜ್ಞವು ನಡೆಯುವುದೋ ಅದು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕಯಜ್ಞವು.
