Bhagavadgita 17.10 & 17.11

यातयामं गतरसं पूति पर्युषितं यत्
उच्छिष्टमपि चामेध्यं भोजनं तामसप्रियम्।।17.10।।

17.10 Food cooked more than three hours before being eaten, which is tasteless, stale, putrid, decomposed and unclean, is food liked by people in the mode of ignorance.

17.10 ಅರ್ಧ ಬೆಂದಿರುವ, ಸವಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ, ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ, ತಂಗಳಾದ, ಉಂಡುಮಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕದ್ದಲ್ಲದ ಭೋಜನವು ಯಾವುದೋ ಅದು ತಾಮಸರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದುದು.

अफलाकाङ्क्षिभिर्यज्ञो विधिदृष्टो इज्यते
यष्टव्यमेवेति मनः समाधाय सात्त्विकः।।17.11।।

17.11 Of sacrifices, that sacrifice performed according to duty and to scriptural rules, and with no expectation of reward, is of the nature of goodness.

17.11 ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೋರದೇ, ವಿದ್ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಎಂದು, ಮನಸ್ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಯಜ್ಞವು ನಡೆಯುವುದೋ ಅದು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕಯಜ್ಞವು.

आयुःसत्त्वबलारोग्यसुखप्रीतिविवर्धनाः
रस्याः स्निग्धाः स्थिरा हृद्या आहाराः सात्त्विकप्रियाः।।17.8।।

17.8 Foods in the mode of goodness increase the duration of life, purify one's existence and give strength, health, happiness and satisfaction. Such nourishing foods are sweet, juicy, fattening and palatable.

17.8 ಅಯುಸ್ಸನ್ನೂ, ಸತ್ವಗುಣವನ್ನೂ, ಬಲವನ್ನೂ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸವಿಯಾಗಿ, ಜಿಡ್ಡಾಗಿ, ಸಾರವುಳ್ಳವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮಧುರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಆಹಾರಗಳು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದವುಗಳು.

कट्वम्ललवणात्युष्णतीक्ष्णरूक्षविदाहिनः
आहारा राजसस्येष्टा दुःखशोकामयप्रदाः।।17.9।।

17.9 Foods that are too bitter, too sour, salty, pungent, dry and hot, are liked by people in the modes of passion. Such foods cause pain, distress, and disease. 

17.9 ಬಲು ಕಹಿಯಾಗಿ, ಬಲು ಹುಳಿಯಾಗಿ, ಬಲು ಉಪ್ಪಾಗಿ, ಬಲು ಬಿಸಿಯಾಗಿ, ಬಲು ಖಾರವಾಗಿ, ಬಲು ಸೀಕಲಾಗಿ, ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹುರಿದು ಸುಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಿ, ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನೂ, ಶೋಕವನ್ನೂ, ರೋಗವನ್ನೂ ತರುವ ಆಹಾರಗಳು ರಾಜಸರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದವುಗಳು.
