कर्षयन्तः शरीरस्थं भूतग्राममचेतसः।
मां चैवान्तःशरीरस्थं तान्विद्ध्यासुरनिश्चयान्।।17.6।।
17.6 who are impelled
by passion and who torture their bodily organs as well as the Supersoul
dwelling within are to be known as demons.
17.6 ಯಾರು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳ ಸಮೂಹವನ್ನು ಕೃಶಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಶರೀರದೊಳಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೊರಗಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವರೋ ಆ ತಿಳಿಗೇಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಸುರ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯುಳ್ಳವರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ.
आहारस्त्वपि सर्वस्य त्रिविधो भवति प्रियः।
यज्ञस्तपस्तथा दानं तेषां भेदमिमं श्रृणु।।17.7।।
17.7 Even food of
which all partake is of three kinds, according to the three modes of material
nature. The same is true of sacrifices, austerities and charity. Listen, and I
shall tell you of the distinctions of these.
17.7 ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೂ ಬೇಕೆನಿಸುವ ಆಹಾರ, ಯಜ್ಞ, ದಾನ, ತಪಸ್ಸುಗಳು ಮೂರು ಮೂರು ಬಗೆಯಾಗಿರುವವು.
ಅವುಗಳು ವಿಂಗಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವೆನು ಕೇಳು.
